Spring break is nearly here (March 11-15 for Balmoral students). What are your plans? We’re thinking of going camping. Where? There are plenty of gorgeous state and national parks within three hours of Balmoral. Before you go, remember to check for any reservation requirements or park regulations before planning your trip, and don’t forget the s’mores!
Located about an hour and a half from Humble, Lake Livingston is one of the largest lakes in the state, noted for its white bass population. After setting up your tent, you can enjoy fishing, boating and hiking opportunities. Scenic views of the lake and surrounding piney woods are good for the soul.
Just over an hour’s drive away, this national forest offers multiple campgrounds and miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. You can also enjoy fishing and wildlife viewing in the area.
Situated around two and a half hours from Humble, this park features both tent and RV camping options. You can explore the park’s creeks, swamps and forests through hiking and paddling trails.
